Day One and Two:

Upon arrival in Ljubljana, you will have some time to explore the city on your own or with your fellow travelers, take a tour or recover from jet lag by settling into our Airbnb.  There will be no set activities or meals on the first day.  Day 2 will continue with exploration of the city.  We will visit the castle, enjoy some shopping and meander around the old city with lots of flexibility to be on your own or with the group.  In the evening, we’ll enjoy dinner together and talk about our intentions for our time with the horses.

Day Three:

We leave the city in the morning and will travel to the barn and the horses.   We will settle into our accommodations in Bač and then take a short drive to Sembije (c. 5mins) where the horses are located. Today we will sort out equipment for the ride, talk about horse allocation, meet our riding partners for the week and go on our first short ride to start building our connection with our horses. Tonight we will have dinner in Turist farm Bač.

Day Four:

A short car transfer to Šembije where we will get on the  horses and head out under a natural wall to a village on the top of the hill Tabor. We will take a short break to enjoy the views and the guide will explain what you can see and about the history of this place. Then we will head to a local pub to enjoy lunch. After lunch we will pass by castle Kalc and stop at Paljško Disappearing Lake. From there it is a short ride to our overnight destination in Trnje.

Riding time: 6 hours

Day Five:

After breakfast, we will start our ride to the hideout of a famous robber Erazem Predjamski and Predjama castle (a beautiful Medieval castle built into the mouth of a cave).We will tie  the horses under the castle and enjoy lunch with a view on the castle. After the lunch we will have some time to go and inspect the castle from the inside. Then we will ride to our overnight destination in Landol.

Riding time: 6 hours

Day Six:

Straight after breakfast we will head out on a ride into the woods and enjoy the peace in this vast forest. We will have lunch on the way and when we arrive in our overnight destination in Suhorje you will have a chance to go and enjoy the company of beautiful Appaloosa Horses in the pasture or go and cool off in a nearby river.

Day Seven:

This morning we will have another long, great ride through an area called Brkini, famous for its fruit trees and varied terrain with a lot of ups and downs. On the way we will encounter another castle, the castle of Prem. After lunch at near pub we will start the last part of the journey back to Šembije where our horses will have a well deserved break.

Day Eight:

Spend one more day and night exploring Slovenia with a trip to the coast and a tour of the Lipica Stud Farm, home of the famous Lipizzan horse.

Day Nine:

After breakfast we transfer back to Ljubljana by early afternoon so you can either fly out in the late afternoon or evening that day, enjoy another night one your own in the city before flying home or go on to explore Slovenia more or elsewhere in Europe.
